Different African Game Animals
For purposes of this article the different game animals are listed and classified below as published in the booklet “The Ability of Firearm Cartridges”, compiled by Mr. Fanie Combrink from Magnum Arms, South Africa: DANGEROUS BIG GAME Elephant, Rhinoceros, Hippopotamus, African Buffalo, Lion and Leopard. BIG GAME Giraffe, Eland, Roan Antelope, Sable Antelope, Tsessebe, Lichtenstein Hartebeest, Blue Wildebeest, Waterbuck, Kudu, Gems buck, Red Hartebeest, all the different Zebras and Ostrich. MEDIUM SIZE GAME Nyala, Bushbuck, Common Reedbuck, Black Wildebeest, Blesbuck, Bontebok, Impala, Lechwe, Warthog and Bush Pig. SMALL GAME Mountain Reedbuck, Grey Rhebuck, Springbuck, Oribi, Steenbuck, Cape Grysbuck, Sharps Grysbuck, Klipspringer, Common Duiker, Suni, Blue Duiker and Red Duiker. BIG CATS AND PREDATORS Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Wild Dog, Hyena, Brown Hyena and Crocodile. SMALL CATS Caracal Lynx, Serval, Civet, African Wild Cat, Honey Badger, the Foxes and the Mongooses. VARMINT Bush pig, Baboon, Monkeys, certain game birds and animals destroying crops.
